Mizuto Hirota to Meet Alexander Volkanovski at UFC Fight Night 110 in New Zealand

A featherweight clash pitting Mizuto Hirota against Alexander Volkanovski has been added to the UFC Fight Night 110 lineup.

Promotion officials confirmed the bout following an initial report from The Daily Telegraph. UFC Fight Night 110 takes place at Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, on June 10 and is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between Mark Hunt and Derrick Lewis.

A well-traveled veteran of the Strikeforce, Deep, Sengoku and Shooto promotions, Hirota has compiled an 18-7-2 mark since beginning his professional tenure in 2005. Pugnus earned his first Octagon triumph in December, when he outpointed Cole Miller at UFC on Fox 22.

Volkanovski, meanwhile, has been victorious in 14 of his 15 professional outings. That includes a second-round technical knockout of Yusuke Kasuya in his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 101 on Nov. 26. The Australian has finished 12 of his victories inside the distance.
