Migliaccio will meet John
Salgado in the featured match at
M-1 Global “M-1 Selection Americas 1” this Saturday at Bally’s
Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J. The event, which will be
streamed live on Sherdog.com, will feature three “super fights,”
along with eight tournament matchups in the lightweight,
welterweight and middleweight divisions, as prospects vie for spots
on the M-1 Challenge tour.
Migliaccio, a 31-year-old King of the Cage veteran, last appeared at an M-1 Challenge event in June, when he submitted Finland’s Niko Puhakka with a first-round armbar. A protégé of the late Ryan Gracie, he holds dual black belts in judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu and competed at the 2007 Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championships. Unbeaten as a professional, Migliaccio he has delivered four of his six victories by submission inside one round.
Salgado has not competed since he dropped a unanimous decision to
Edward
Guedes at a Ring of Combat event six months ago. The
34-year-old New York-based lightweight has competed almost
exclusively under the ROC banner.
The two other non-tournament super fights will pit Rami Ibrahim against Lennox Chance at a 130-pound catchweight and Sedico Honorio against Josh Rave at flyweight.
