A women’s bantamweight bout between Miesha Tate and Sara McMann has been added to Jan. 31's UFC 183 card.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the pairing Wednesday. The pay-per-view event will be headlined by Nick Diaz against Anderson Silva and takes place in Las Vegas.
Both Tate and McMann will come into their meeting with their last loss coming at the hands of Ronda Rousey. For “Cupcake,” a win will mark her third straight victory, having defeated both Liz Carmouche and Rin Nakai via unanimous decision. The former Strikeforce champion was rumored to be fighting Bethe Correia, but a scrap with McMann looms first.
McMann’s last outing was a split-decision win at the expense of Lauren Murphy at UFC Fight Night “Bader vs. St. Preux” in August. The former Olympian successfully bounced back from the first loss of her career, a 66-second technical knockout loss against Rousey at UFC 170.
