Middleweights Thiago Santos, Eric Spicely to Clash at UFC Fight Night in Brasilia

Thiago Santos will lock horns with Eric Spicely at UFC Fight Night in Brasilia, Brazil, on Sept. 24.

Promotion officials recently announced the middleweight pairing. UFC Fight Night takes place at Nilson Nelson Gymnasium and is headlined by a 140-pound catch-weight clash pitting Cristiane Justino against Lina Lansberg.

Santos, 32, saw a four-fight winning streak snapped at UFC 200, where he suffered a first-round technical knockout loss to Gegard Mousasi. “Marreta” owns notable Octagon triumphs over Nate Marquardt and Elias Theodorou and is 5-3 within the Las Vegas-based promotion overall.

Spicely tasted defeat for the first time in nine pro outings in his Octagon debut, as he was submitted by Sam Alvey in the first round at UFC Fight Night “McDonald vs. Lineker” on July 13. “The Ultimate Fighter 23” cast member began his career with eight straight triumphs under the CES MMA banner.
