Middleweights Stanislav Nedkov, Tom Watson to Meet at UFC on Fuel TV 7 in London

A middleweight clash between Stanislav Nedkov and Tom Watson has been added to the UFC on Fuel TV 7 bill, promotion officials recently announced.

UFC on Fuel TV 7 takes place on Feb. 16 at the Wembley Arena in London and is headlined by an interim bantamweight title tilt between champion Renan “Barao” Pegado and rising prospect Michael McDonald. The main card airs live on Fuel TV and also includes a featherweight co-main event pitting Cub Swanson against Dennis Siver.

Nedkov last appeared at UFC on Fuel TV 6 in November, where he was submitted by Thiago Silva via arm-triangle choke in the third round. However, the bout was changed to a no contest after it was revealed that Silva tested posted for marijuana metabolites. Nedkov was victorious in his Octagon debut, stopping Luiz Cane 4:20 into the first frame at UFC 134.

A former British Association of Mixed Martial Arts titlist, Watson came up short in his initial UFC appearance, dropping a split verdict to Brad Tavares at UFC on Fuel TV 5 in September. That setback ended a three-fight winning streak for “Kong,” who had defeated Alex Reid, Murilo Rua and Jack Marshman under the BAMMA banner.
