Michael Bisping has suffered an injury and will be unable to compete against Mark Munoz in the main event of UFC Fight Night 30.

As a result, Lyoto Machida will make his middleweight debut against “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” at the Oct. 26 event, which takes place at the Phones 4U arena in Manchester, England. The event is expected to air live on Fox Sports 1 and will also see Melvin Guillard do battle with Ross Pearson in a showdown of hard-hitting lightweights.

Machida was originally supposed to make his middleweight debut on Nov. 6 against Tim Kennedy at UFC Fight Night 31, but that booking has now been scrapped. A new opponent for Kennedy is expected to be announced shortly.

A former light heavyweight champion, Machida, 35, suffered a controversial unanimous decision defeat to Phil Davis in their Aug. 3 meeting at UFC 163. Prior to that setback, “The Dragon” earned back-to-back victories, knocking out Ryan Bader last year before outpointing Dan Henderson this past February.

Also 35, Munoz recently returned to the cage after spending a year on the shelf, reemerging in the Octagon with an impressive decision victory over Tim Boetsch. Prior to taking his year off, the World Extreme Cagefighting veteran saw a four-fight winning streak snapped by future UFC champion Chris Weidman, who finished Munoz last summer with a beautiful standing elbow and ground-and-pound at UFC on Fuel TV 4.
