A middleweight striker’s delight is set to take place at Bellator 131, as Melvin Manhoef will square off with Joe Schilling on Nov. 15 in San Diego.

Bellator announced the matchup on Friday night. Bellator 131 takes place at the Valley View Casino Center and is headlined by a light heavyweight clash between Stephan Bonnar and Tito Ortiz. The card also includes a lightweight title tilt between Will Brooks and Michael Chandler.

Manhoef made his promotional debut in spectacular fashion, knocking at Doug Marshall 1:45 into the first round of their bout at Bellator 125. The hard-hitting Dutchman has finished 27 of his 29 professional victories by way of knockout or technical knockout. It was announced his win over Marshall that “No Mercy” would receive a middleweight title shot, but those plans are on hold -- at least for now.

Schilling, meanwhile, is best known for his exploits in the Glory kickboxing ring. The man known as “Stitch ‘Em Up” won the 2013 Glory Middleweight Tournament Championship and was a finalist in the 2014 Glory Last Man Standing Middleweight Tournament. Schilling has not competed in the MMA realm since 2008. He is 1-3 in the cage, with all of his defeats coming via submission.

“My name is Joe Schilling. You might not know it today but you will very soon,” Schilling said in a release. “I'm one of the best strikers on the planet, and if you want to see people got laid the hell out, just watch me fight on Nov. 15.”
