Melvin Guillard Signs with Bellator MMA
Melvin
Guillard has reached a multi-fight, multi-year agreement to
compete with Bellator
MMA. Promotion officials revealed the signing Monday morning in
an email blast sent to the mixed martial arts media.
“We are excited to have Melvin coming onboard,” stated Bellator President Scott Coker in a press release. “With competitors the likes of Lightweight Champion Will Brooks, Michael Chandler, Marcin Held, Derek Anderson, Saad Awad, Dave Jansen and Patricky [Freire] Pitbull on the roster already, the matchup possibilities for an exciting fighter like him are endless.”
A veteran of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and World Series of Fighting, Guillard has competed in 50 professional MMA bouts and has compiled a record of 32-14-2 with 2 NC.
Guillard, 32, holds notable wins over Dennis Siver, Gleison Tibau, Jeremy Stephens and Evan Dunham.
