World Series of Fighting today removed lightweight Melvin Guillard from the lineup for this week’s WSOF 20.

An official from WSOF on Monday confirmed to Sherdog.com that Guillard was pulled from Friday’s co-main event for failing to submit medicals. The news was first reported by MMAJunkie.com.

Guillard was slated to meet Ozzy Dugulubgov, who will instead face Lucas Montoya on the NBC Sports Network-broadcast main card. A lightweight matchup between Nick Newell and Joe Condon has been promoted to the co-main event slot. WSOF 20 takes place at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Conn., and is headlined by a light heavyweight tournament bout between middleweight champ David Branch and Ronny Markes.

Guillard joined World Series of Fighting last April after competing for nearly nine years in the UFC. “The Young Assassin” has made two WSOF appearances, defeating Gesias Cavalcante and losing to lightweight titlist Justin Gaethje; Guillard missed weight for both bouts. In a recent interview with Submission Radio Australia, Guillard stated that he was “on [his] way out the door from World Series, most likely” and declared his interest in signing with Bellator MMA.
