Cristiane Justino might’ve jumped the gun when she said the UFC had offered her a title defense against Megan Anderson at UFC 221.

According to Anderson, the Las Vegas-based promotion wants to book her against “Cyborg” — just not at UFC 221. Earlier, Justino took to Instagram to announced she had accepted a fight against the Invicta champion.

“I didn’t realize you can accept a fight that’s never been offered to you,” Anderson wrote on Twitter. “Cris nor her team have been offered a fight against me at UFC Perth despite the rumors.

“The UFC are looking to book this fight, but since the UFC Perth card is already completely booked, it will not be happening in six weeks.”

Anderson and Justino were initially slated to square off in July, but Anderson had to withdraw from the bout due to personal reasons. The Queensland, Australia, native has won her last four bouts under the Invicta FC banner. Most recently, Anderson scored a second-round TKO of Charmaine Tweet at Invicta FC 21 to claim the promotion’s interim featherweight title. She was later promoted to undisputed champion after Justino vacated the crown to move to the UFC.

Justino claimed the vacant featherweight crown with a third-round stoppage of Tonya Evinger at UFC 214. The Brazilian made her first title defense last weekend, taking a five-round verdict over Holly Holm in the UFC 219 headliner.

“They can say whatever, can try to make me look whatever they like, try and say someone else deserves this fight, but one thing is certain: this is the only fight that needs to happen and it will happen, soon,” Anderson wrote.
