The bout was announced during Wednesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight.” UFC 199 takes place at the Forum and is headlined by a middleweight title rematch between Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman. In the co-main event, Dominick Cruz defends the bantamweight strap against Urijah Faber.

The 24-year-old Holloway has won eight straight fights since a unanimous decision loss to Conor McGregor in August 2013. During that time the Hawaii native has posted notable triumphs over the likes of Jeremy Stephens, Charles Oliveira, Cub Swanson and Cole Miller, to name a few. “Blessed” is 11-3 overall during his tenure with the Las Vegas-based promotion.

A former featherweight title challenger, Lamas enters the matchup having won three of his last four in the Octagon. Most recently, “The Bully” took a three-round verdict over Diego Sanchez at UFC Fight Night in Monterrey, Mexico this past November. Lamas is 7-2 in UFC competition overall, including wins over Dennis Bermudez, Hacran Dias, Swanson and Hatsu Hioki.
