Mark Hunt Calls for Brock Lesnar’s Entire UFC 200 Purse After Failed Drug Test

Mark Hunt was never confident that UFC 200 opponent Brock Lesnar was completely clean.

In the weeks leading up to the landmark event, “The Super Samoan” speculated that Lesnar was “juiced to the gills” and blasted the promotion for granting the WWE star an exemption from the four-month USADA notice normally required of athletes coming out of retirement.

After news broke that Lesnar had been flagged by USADA for a potential anti-doping violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on June 28, Hunt believes those suspicions have been confirmed.

It is not yet known the substance for which Lesnar tested positive, and he still has the right to an appeals process to avoid a possible two-year suspension. Regardless, Hunt initially called for a hefty chunk of Lesnar’s disclosed $2.5 million payday from UFC 200. Lesnar returned from a lengthy hiatus to defeat Hunt via unanimous decision on the July 9 card.

“I saw Brock made millions for this fight, more than anyone ever,” he told markhunt.tv. “I wanna know what they are gonna do to Brock now. When you don’t make weight they give twenty percent of your purse to the other fighter. If you get caught cheating you should lose all of it.

“I’ve told Dana I want half of Brock’s purse.”

Hunt later took to Twitter to amend that request:

If things don’t play out to Hunt’s satisfaction, the 42-year-old New Zealand native has threatened to ask for his UFC release.

“I’ve told Dana that I want a release from the UFC if they don’t sort this out,” he said. “They say they are trying to clean up the sport, but it doesn’t feel like it. The UFC is basically saying if you cheat you won’t be penalized.”
