Manny Gamburyan Withdraws From UFC on FX 8; Nik Lentz to Face Hacran Dias

For the second time in 2013, injuries have forced Manny Gamburyan to withdraw from an event.

UFC officials announced on Monday that Nik Lentz has been tabbed to replace Gamburyan against Hacran Dias in a featherweight clash at UFC on FX 8. “The Anvil” also was forced to pull out of a proposed meeting with Chad Mendes at UFC 157.

UFC on FX 8 takes place on May 18 at the Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil and is headlined by a key middleweight encounter between Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold.

Dias has tasted defeat just once in 23 professional appearances, most recently taking a three-round verdict over Iuri Alcantara in his initial Octagon appearance at UFC 147. Lentz, meanwhile, is 2-0 since dropping from lightweight to featherweight last year, defeating Eiji Mitsuoka and Diego Nunes in his last two outings.
