Manager Says Conor McGregor ‘Vehemently Denies’ Sexual Assault Allegations
Other than a couple of brief statements from a representative, Conor McGregor and his team have been largely silent regarding the sexual assault allegations levied against the UFC star.

"The thing about Conor is when he makes a mistake, he owns up to it, He’s a global icon, but he's also a polarizing figure," Attar said. "So he's the subject of a lot of rumors that take place. And our position has always been that we just don't comment on rumors.
“But even most recently, in terms of certain allegations, we
vehemently deny it and he does as well. At the end of the day, we
know who he is. He knows who he is, we know what the truth is, so
what we have to do is focus on the positives. And while there’s
been all this different stuff in the media and the rumor mills if
you will, he’s had a great year from a business standpoint.”
McGregor is under investigation for two separate sexual assault charges in Ireland. In March, the New York Times reported that the SBG Ireland standout was under investigation for allegedly raping a woman at a Dublin hotel in December 2018. More recently, the Times reported that McGregor is the subject of another investigation, this time for allegedly assaulting a woman outside a pub in Dublin in October.
McGregor has not been charged with a crime in either case. Irish media have reported on both incidents but have not named McGregor due to laws in Ireland that restrict the press from identifying a suspect if they are convicted of a crime. Attar attributes the reports to “tabloid-driven” media, and claims that measures will be taken soon to disprove the allegations.
"It's obsessive," Attar said. "It's also sickening. And there's a lot of things we'll also be doing in the coming weeks just to debunk a lot of the BS that's been written and said about him over there.”
Attar’s appearance comes shortly after McGregor announced that he’ll be making his Octagon return at a UFC pay-per-view event in Las Vegas on Jan. 18. Attar confirmed that announcement, claiming that a deal is “imminent” for the ex-champ’s return.
