MTV: Bellator 45 Concludes Fourth Season with 264,000 Viewers

Bellator
Fighting Championships posted strong ratings with its
fourth-season finale, as the May 21 live broadcast of
Bellator 45 on MTV2 netted an average of 264,000 viewers.
MTV officials relayed the numbers to Sherdog.com Tuesday, noting that Bellator 45 earned the second-highest viewership of the season, trailing only the previous week’s Bellator 44 (325,000 viewers).
Featuring the finals of both the fourth-season featherweight and
light heavyweight tournaments, Bellator 45 earned season-high
scores in the Males 18-34 and M18-45 demographics, posting ratings
of 0.4 and 0.33 in those respective categories.
The event, which emanated from L’Auberge du Lac Casino and Resort in Lake Charles, La., peaked with 360,000 viewers at 9:30 p.m. ET.
Bellator 45 saw Patricio “Pitbull” Freire (Pictured) best Daniel Straus by unanimous decision to win the featherweight tournament crown. In the evening’s final contest, Christian M’Pumbu took out the much larger Richard Hale with third-round punches to become Bellator’s inaugural 205-pound champion.
