MMA-Themed Reality Series ‘Combate Americas’ Set for Cable TV Premiere

The mixed martial arts-themed reality show “Combate Americas” will kick off its initial season with a two-hour series premiere tonight at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on the Spanish-language cable network mun2.

Created by UFC co-founder Campbell McLaren and produced by Bunim/Murray Productions Latin, the series focuses on 10 Latino fighters -- five welterweights and five featherweights -- who will compete against one another in various physical challenges and eventually, MMA bouts, with a Combate Americas promotional contract at stake.

Royce Gracie and Eddie Alvarez, among others, are expected to make appearances during the 10-episode series.

A sister network of Telemundo, mun2 is owned by NBCUniversal and is available in nearly 40 million American households, according to TV by the Numbers. Founded in 1987, Bunim/Murray is best known for producing popular reality programs like “The Real World,” “Road Rules,” “Project Runway” and “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”
