MFC 36 Gets Jay Silva-Jacen Flynn, Jason Zentgraf-Luke Harris Middleweight Bouts

Two new middleweight confrontations are now official for MFC 36, as UFC veteran Jay Silva squares off with Jacen Flynn while Jason Zentgraf meets Luke Harris.

Maximum Fighting Championship officials recently revealed the new additions to the Canadian promotion’s upcoming card, which takes place Feb. 15 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. The show is headlined by a lightweight title tilt between Mukai Maromo and Graham Spencer, and the evening’s main draw airs live on AXS TV. A third middleweight showdown will also take place at the event during the preliminary card, as Paul Grandbois faces Cody Krahn in a clash of local talents.

“The MFC really started to produce exceptional talent in the middleweight division in 2012, and these two fights -- part of our first show in 2013 -- are a direct result of that talent influx,” said MFC boss Mark Pavelich in the official release. “There was a huge level of excitement around the MMA world when we signed Jay Silva, and immediately Jacen Flynn jumped at the opportunity because he wants to prove he’s much better than when we saw last time out.”

Silva makes his MFC debut against Flynn, who was finished in just 99 seconds in his promotional foray back in August. The defeat snapped a four-fight winning streak for Flynn, who owns nine of his 10 career victories by submission. In Silva, Flynn faces a UFC and Bellator veteran who has won three of his last five outings. The 31-year-old was outpointed in his most recent in-cage appearance, however, falling by majority decision to Michal Materla at KSW 19 on May 12.
