Ludwig-Sadollah, O’Brien-Miller Agreed Upon for UFC Live 5

The dance card for UFC Live 5 received its first additions Tuesday, as the UFC announced that Duane Ludwig will meet Amir Sadollah and T.J. O'Brien will square off against Cole Miller at the August event.

All four men have verbally agreed to their respective bouts, according to a statement from UFC President Dana White. While not officially announced by the promotion, UFC Live 5, alternately titled “UFC on Versus 5,” is expected to go down Aug. 14 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisc. As per its title, the event will air live on cable network Versus.

An 11-year veteran of the sport, Ludwig (Pictured) made his UFC debut in 2003. His most recent run with the promotion has netted him mixed results, as “Bang” dropped consecutive bouts to lightweights Jim Miller and Darren Elkins in 2010, the latter loss coming by way of serious ankle injury. After eight months off, the fighter returned to the welterweight division in November, earning a hard-fought split decision victory over Nick Osipczak at UFC 122 in Oberhausen, Germany.

The winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 7, Sadollah has spent the entirety of his pro career inside the Octagon. The welterweight debuted with the promotion at 185 pounds, submitting fellow “TUF 7” finalist C.B. Dollaway with an armbar in the reality show’s season finale. Sadollah dropped to 170 pounds in his next fight, where he was knocked out by powerful wrestler Johny Hendricks. Since that defeat, Sadollah has won four of five fights, most recently pounding out DaMarques Johnson at UFC Fight Night 24 in March.

Known as “The Spider,” O’Brien holds all 16 of his career victories by submission. After rattling off six-straight wins, O’Brien debuted with the UFC in November, losing by TKO to Brit Paul Kelly at UFC 123. The lightweight has yet to see a decision in four years as a professional.

Another submission specialist, Miller recently had a two-fight winning streak snapped by Matt Wiman, as “Magrinho” was bullied around the cage in their January contest. Known for his length and grappling acumen, Miller has submitted 12 of his 17 career victims.
