The Lion Fight 16 main card is now set, as Kevin Ross will take on Michael Thompson for the muay Thai promotion’s super lightweight title.
Sherdog.com confirmed the booking with a source close to the event on Tuesday. The July 4 event takes place at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and will also see former women’s Lion Fight titlist Tiffany Van Soest take on Italian talent Sindy Huyer at 125 pounds.
The AXS TV-broadcast main card will additionally feature a 132-pound showdown between Thai champion Rungravee Sasiprapa and Adrian Morilla, while Vitelmo Kubis meets Michael Chase Corley at 155 pounds. Opening the televised card will be a 142-pound clash pitting Tyler Toner against Gaston Bolanos.
Sherdog’s source indicated that former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva may attend the event in order to support training partner Kubis. Lion Fight 16 will be a part of the UFC’s “International Fight Week,” which runs from Tuesday, July 1 to Sunday, July 6.
