Legacy FC Signs Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, ADCC Champion Michelle Nicolini to Multi-Fight Deal

Legacy Fighting Championship has signed one of Brazilian jiu-jitsu’s most decorated women, as LFC promoter Mick Maynard told Sherdog.com Tuesday that the Texas-based promotion has struck a multi-fight deal with Michelle Nicolini.

The 32-year-old grappler is a multiple-time World Jiu-Jitsu champion, winning gold in the brown/black belt category in 2006, 2007 and 2010 to 2013.

Nicolini also won a pair of International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation no-gi titles, winning her weight division in 2008 and then the openweight category in 2010. Those no-gi skills were then applied at the 2013 ADCC submission wrestling championships, where she took home the top prize at 60 kg (132 pounds).

The Brazilian made her mixed martial arts debut in 2011, submitting her opponent with a first-round armbar in Peru’s Inka Fighting Championship. Nicolini returned to MMA in February, using another armbar to dispatch of Lanchana Green under England’s Made 4 the Cage banner.
