A bantamweight clash between Leandro Issa and Russell Doane has been confirmed for UFC Fight Night 34 in Singapore.
UFC officials verified the pairing on Thursday night, adding the 135-pound duel to the Jan. 4 bill. UFC Fight Night 34 marks the Las Vegas-based organization’s debut in Singapore and takes place at the Marina Bay Sands, headlined by a welterweight showdown pitting Hyun Gyu Lim against former Strikeforce titlist Tarec Saffiedine.
Issa has won eight of his last nine, most recently competing for the One Fighting Championship and posting a promotional record of 3-1. “Brodinho” was last seen in April, when he outpointed Yusup Saadulaev in a unanimous verdict at One FC 8.
Doane, meanwhile, last competed on Nov. 14, winning the Tachi Palace Fights interim bantamweight title by knocking out UFC veteran Jared Papazian. Doane has earned 10 of his 12 career wins inside the distance and has never been knocked out in more than five years of competition.
