Lawler to Duke it Out With Manhoef?

Robbie Lawler will square off with dangerous striker Melvin Manhoef Saturday night at Strikeforce "Miami," and the veteran middleweight is ready for a standup battle if that is the hand he is dealt.

Lawler, returning for the first time since losing to Strikeforce 185-pound champion Jake Shields in June, hopes to right his ship.

Lawler did acknowledge the ground game might be the path of least resistance against Manhoef, but understands he can’t just chase the takedown. He also discussed his newer patient style and how it may be rendered useless against his hyper-aggressive opponent.
