Kazakbai Tilenov Dusts Fatigued Ivan Parshikov at ONE Friday Fights 51

Mark it down as an impressive first impression for Kazakbai Tilenov.

The Tiger Muay Thai rep excelled in his ONE Championship debut and disposed of Ivan Parshikov with punches in the third round of their 148-pound ONE Friday Fights 51 catchweight showcase on Friday at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Tilenov (6-1, 1-0 ONE) drew the curtain 2:07 into Round 3, as he rebounded from a June 24 submission defeat to Sundet Aitkulov.

Parshikov (11-5, 3-2 ONE) controlled the first round with repeated takedowns, steady ground-and-pound and bulletproof submission defense. However, his gas tank could not withstand the workload. Tilenov worked in concert with fatigue in Round 2, connected with a few spinning back elbows on the feet, sprawled into top position and eventually mounted the fading Russian twice. Parshikov survived but had nothing left for the third round. Tilenov followed an uppercut into half guard and unleashed punches, hammerfists and elbows, forcing his spent opponent to turtle. More punches followed, prompting the stoppage.

Meanwhile, the unbeaten Adilet Alimbek Uulu put away South Korean teenager Kyu Jun Cho with a neck crank in the second round of their featherweight feature. Cho (3-1, 0-1 ONE) raised the white flag of surrender 3:55 into Round 2, suffering his first setback as a pro.

Uulu (5-0, 1-0 ONE) wore down his counterpart with merciless pressure and repeated takedowns throughout a frenetic first five minutes. In fact, Cho, 18, collapsed in his corner from exhaustion between rounds, resulting in his being admonished by referee Mohamad Sulaiman. He enjoyed a brief second wind in the middle stanza but yielded top position to Uulu and ultimately broke. The Kyrgyzstani “Tiger” climbed to full mount, progressed to the back and cinched the neck crank after a brief struggle.

The 21-year-old Uulu has finished all five of his opponents.
