One Fighting Championship’s inaugural welterweight titlist will be crowned on Nov. 15, as Adam Shahir Kayoom battles Nobutatsu Suzuki in the One FC 12 main event.
One FC officials Thursday announced the event, which takes place at Putra Indoor Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The evening’s main draw streams via online pay-per-view at onefc.livesport.tv, while the preliminary card will be shown live and free on Sherdog.com.
A five-fight pro, Kayoom, 35, rides a three-fight winning streak into his title opportunity and made a successful One FC debut last year with a unanimous decision victory over Gregor Gracie. “Shogun” followed that performance with another triumph within the promotion, submitting Zuli Silawanto with a first-round rear-naked choke this past February at One FC 7.
Suzuki, meanwhile, rebounded from a December loss to former Sengoku welterweight king Keita Nakamura to stop UFC vet Phil Baroni this past May at One FC 9. The 36-year-old Japanese talent has spent the vast majority of his eight-year career competing under the Zst banner and owns all 10 of his pro victories by form of knockout.
