Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway, Jim Miller vs. Bobby Green Announced for UFC 300
UFC 300 has another marquee matchup, as Justin Gaethje will defend his “BMF” title against Max Holloway in a five-round lightweight bout.

A former World Series of Fighting champion, Gaethje has been victorious in three of his last four Octagon appearances. Most recently, he defeated Dustin Poirier via second-round knockout at UFC 291 to claim the “BMF” belt this past July. “The Highlight” has twice challenged for the UFC lightweight crown and was considered among the leaders to face reigning champ Islam Makhachev next before the fight against Holloway was revealed.
Holloway previously competed at 155 pounds at UFC 236, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Dustin Poirier in an interim title bout. The former featherweight king has won four of his last five outings, with his lone defeat coming via unanimous decision to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 276 — his third loss to the Australian in a 145-pound championship clash.
Miller has been victorious in five of his last six fights under the UFC banner. The New Jersey native is coming off a third-round submission win over Gabriel Benitez at UFC Fight Night 234 on Jan. 13. After that triumph, the promotion’s all-time leader in wins and appearances called for a chance to fight at UFC 300. While his targeted opponents of Paul Felder and Matt Brown didn’t come to fruition, his request was nonetheless granted.
The 37-year-old Green had a two-bout winning streak snapped in his last outing, when he suffered a first-round KO loss to Jalin Turner at UFC on ESPN 52. Green and Miller were twice scheduled to meet in the past -- at UFC 276 and at UFC 258 -- before those fights were ultimately canceled.
