Parsons was hospitalized after the accident, which occurred early Sunday morning in Delray Beach, Fla. His lower right leg had to be amputated and Blackzilians training partner Rashad Evans posted on Instagram on Monday that Parsons was in a coma and fighting for his life.
The Delray Beach Police Department is searching for the driver of a 2013 Range Rover Sport, which allegedly fled the scene after hitting Parsons. The vehicle is missing the driver’s side mirror and there is damage to the driver’s side headlight, as well.
Parsons was born in North Dakota and spent his high school years as a wrestler in Michigan. He compiled an 11-2 record in professional MMA and won two of his first three Bellator appearances. He was scheduled to face Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 154 prior to the accident.
