One day before UFC Fight Night “Cerrone vs. Miller,” John Lineker was already a winner. The Brazilian flyweight checked in at 125.5 pounds, meeting the requirement for his bout with Alptekin Ozkilic.
It was no small feat for Lineker, who weighed in over the 126-pound flyweight limit in three of his six UFC appearances.

“That’s not going to be an issue anymore," Lineker said. “I have over 30 fights in this division, so I think it’s a good place for me.”
With divisional champion Demetrious Johnson set to defend his title against Chris Cariaso at UFC 177, with and top contender John Dodson sidelined with a knee injury, Lineker’s next opponent remains unclear. At Wednesday’s post-fight press conference, however, one UFC official mentioned “Hands of Stone” alongside fellow top-10 flyweights Ian McCall and Brad Pickett, who square off Saturday in Ireland.
“You talk about the Dublin card this weekend, with Pickett and McCall, and now [Lineker’s] in the mix,” said UFC Director of Public Relations Dave Sholler. “That division got really interesting tonight.”
