Boston native John Howard will fight on home soil when he meets Lorenz Larkin at UFC Fight Night “McGregor vs. Siver” on Jan. 18.
UFC officials recently announced the bout, which will take place at the TD Garden in Boston. The Fight Night card will air on Fox Sports 1 and is headlined by a featherweight clash between Conor McGregor and Dennis Siver.
Howard went winless in two 2014 outings, falling to Ryan LaFlare via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night “Minotauro vs. Nelson” in April before dropping a split verdict against Brian Ebersole at UFC 178 on Sept. 27. The 31-year-old “Doomsday” returned to the Octagon in 2013 following a two-year absence, posting victories over Uriah Hall and Siyar Bahadurzada last year.
Larkin, meanwhile, enters the bout with Howard on a three-fight skid and is just 1-4 with the Las Vegas-based promotion overall. The Strikeforce veteran last appeared at UFC 177, losing a unanimous decision to Derek Brunson.
