Scottish striker Joanne Calderwood’s next fight will be on home soil.
The UFC announced on Friday that Calderwood will face Bec Rawlings in a strawweight clash at UFC Fight Night Glasgow on July 18. The card, which does not yet have a main event, takes place at SSE Hydro Arena. Calderwood-Rawlings is the fifth bout to be announced for the event.
Calderwood suffered the first loss of her 10-fight career on April 11, as she succumbed to a Maryna Moroz armbar 1:30 into the opening frame at UFC Fight Night “Gonzaga vs. Cro Cop 2.” “Jojo” debuted in the Octagon at the “TUF 20” finale, where she took a three-round verdict over Seo Hee Ham.
Rawlings, who was Calderwood’s castmate on “TUF 20,” halted a two-fight skid on May 10 when she submitted Lisa Ellis with a rear-naked choke 4:09 into the opening frame. The Queensland, Australia, native is 6-4 as a professional, with four triumphs via tapout.
