Vick was slated to fight Paul Felder at UFC Fight Night 133 on July 14. It is unknown if a new opponent will be found for “The Irish Dragon” to keep him on the event.
Vick is riding a four-fight winning streak at 155 pounds and has gone 9-1 since joining the UFC in 2013. In his last fight, “The Texecutioner” defeated Francisco Trinaldo by unanimous decision at UFC Austin.
Gaethje will enter the event following back-to-back losses. The former World Series of Fighting champion has been finished by Dustin Poirier and Eddie Alvarez, though all of his UFC performances thus far have been awarded with a Fight of the Night bonus.
