Jackson, Mir Rake Event-High $250,000 Purses at UFC 130

Quinton Jackson and Frank Mir each walked away from the MGM Grand Garden Arena with event-high $250,000 purses after dominating their respective foes in unanimous decision victories at UFC 130, according to numbers released Tuesday by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

In Saturday’s main event, former 205-pound champion Jackson dictated the pace against Matt Hamill ($32,000) from start to finish, stuffing the wrestler’s takedowns and making him pay with strikes in the standup.

In the heavyweight co-headliner, ex-titleholder Mir continually took down Roy Nelson ($15,000), making life difficult on “Big Country” for the bout’s three-round duration.

Lightweight Gleison Tibau also took home a handsome sum, as the Brazilian earned both his win bonus and “Submission of the Night” honors for a grand total of $120,000 after choking out Rafaello Oliveira ($10,000) in the second round.

Hard-punching middleweight Brian Stann netted a total of $116,000 for his “Fight of the Night” performance against Jorge Santiago ($106,000), who also received “FOTN” honors despite being knocked out in the second frame.

Heavyweight prospect Travis Browne was awarded a total of $86,000 for delivering “Knockout of the Night” to fellow up-and-comer Stefan Struve ($21,000).

Rounding out the main card, Rick Story earned $34,000 for his unanimous decision victory over the highly-regarded Thiago Alves ($33,000), while Demetrious Johnson took home $12,000 for his contentious unanimous nod over former WEC champ Miguel Torres ($30,000).

The numbers below do not reflect any discretionary “locker room” bonuses which a promoter may issue, or money earned by fighters through sponsorships or pay-per-view revenue shares.
