Helen Peralta vs. Jade Ripley

Round 1

Ripley comes forward with a hard right hand over the top while Peralta attacks the lead leg of her opponent early. Ripley is switching stances consistently. A jab by Peralta catches Ripley coming forward, and she follows up with a hook to the body. A counter right hand lands for Peralta. They clinch and Peralta briefly buckles her foe with a pair of right hands to the side of the head. They separate and Peralta goes on the offensive. She tees off with wide power punches, and Ripley staggers back into the fence. The assault continues and referee Mike England has seen enough, giving Peralta her first professional triumph.

Konklak Suphisara vs. Mellissa Wang

Round 1

Wang pushes forward with punches and looks for a takedown near the fence right off the bat. Suphisara lands a couple knees to the body before the separate. Wang goes right back to the forward pressure, following a front kick with a double jab before closing the distance. Suphisara is able to separate from her foe again and they’re back in the center of the cage. “Loma Lookboonme” lands a hard kick to the body as Wang shoots for a takedown. The muay Thai stylist stands and they clinch against the fence. Suphisara nonchalantly trips her foe to the canvas and walks away. A knee to the face lands for Suphisara in close range, and that allows “Loma Lookboonmee” to quickly transition to her opponent’s back. She hunts for the rear-naked choke, and then adjusts her grip, going palm to palm. Eventually Suphisara gives up on the choke and takes full mount, landing some elbows from above. Suphisara goes back to the choke, but Wang is eventually able to turn away and take top position. Wang looks to create space and land punches from inside her opponent’s full guard. Wang tries to pass guard, stands and then dives back into side control. The round ends there. 10-9 Suphisara.

Round 2

Wang pushes forward and forces a clinch against the cage. Suphisara defends the takedown well and lands a couple knees to the body before the atomweights separate. A kick to the body by Suphisara makes Wang back up for a moment. Wang catches a kick and ties up with her foe. Suphisara takes control and lands a knee followed by a short elbow before Wang moves away. Wang moves forward and eats a knee to the body. Wang drops lower and the Tiger Muay Thai product lands another knee, but part of Suphisara’s thigh appears to hit Wang’s chin and neck. Referee Greg Franklin calls a halt to the action for what he deems an illegal knee. A point is not deducted, and the action resumes with about 1:30 to go. A couple straight punches connect for Wang before Suphisara trips her to the mat. Wang pops up and resumes her pressure. Wang catches a body kick but can’t take her foe down. Suphisara lands a couple more knees to the body that appear to hurt Wang. Wang keeps her feet, but “Loma Lookboonmee” is controlling the clinch with knees and elbows. Wang appears to be bleeding from her nose now, perhaps from one of the elbows she’s absorbed. The round ends with with the fighters in the clinch. 10-9 Suphisara.

Round 3

Wang lands a jab as she moves forward. Wang ties up with Suphisara, but the muay Thai fighter unloads with a series of knees to the midsection. They separate and return to the center of the cage. Wang blocks a high kick and they clinch again. Suphisara lands yet another hard knee to the body. Wang drops low for a takedown, but Suphisara sprawls effectively and takes her adversary’s back briefly. Wang looks fatigued now as they break the clinch. Wang shoots from far away and absorbs a knee in close for her troubles. Wang continues to push forward and she ties up Suphisara against the fence. Suphisara shucks Wang to the floor and throws a knee that grazes her downed opponent’s head. This time, Franklin deducts a point. Wang says she’s able to continue and we’re back to fighting with less than 2:00 to go. The clinching resumes, with Suphisara continues landing knees to the body. Wang doggedly pursues a takedown near the fence, as she continues to absorb knees. Suphisara tosses Wang to the canvas and backs away. Franklin orders Wang back up. They clinch again and Wang eats a hard right before the combatants break. The fight ends in the clinch. 9-9 (29-27 Suphisara).

Mallory Martin vs. Tiffany Masters

Round 1

Martin quickly takes the center of the cage and starts throwing combinations. Martin follows a right over the top with a straight left. A left hand from Masters lands cleanly as Martin moves forward. Martin is kicking at Masters’ lead leg while avoiding Masters return fire. A high kick from Masters is mostly blocked. Masters is bleeding from her nose due to Martin’s shots down the middle. Masters picks up her output for a moment, but Martin is able to avoid most of the strikes. Martin lands a pair of punches to the liver. Martin times a single-leg takedown perfectly and takes Masters down with about a minute to go. Martin is in half guard, landing some short elbows to the head. Martin frames a kimura, gives up on it and lands a hard elbow instead. Masters scrambles and looks for a leg lock as time winds down. Martin is able to land elbows to the head and body as time expires. 10-9 Martin.

Round 2

Martin marches across the cage to meet her foe, but Masters answers with a flurry of punches. Martin changes levels and takes Masters down near the fence. Martin is in her opponent’s full guard now, and she goes back to work with several short elbows over the top. Martin stacks Masters in hopes of passing guard. Martin remains heavy on top, and she moves to side control. Masters attempts to walk her feet up the cage and push off the fence, but Martin remains in top position. Martin steps over to full mount and lands a couple right hands. Martin postures up and is alternating punches and elbows. Blood is flowing from Masters’ head as Martin continues to unload. Finally, a series of unanswered right hands to the head brings a halt to the contest.

Akeela Al-Hameed vs. Felicia Spencer

Round 1

Spencer tries to initiate to clinch behind a right but Al-Hameed defends it. Al-Hameed fires off some one-two combos before clinching with her foe. Spencer turns her foe and they battle for position. Spencer digs for a takedown, but Al-Hameed is defending well so far. Al-Hameed powers her way off the fence briefly but Spencer reverses. Spencer grazes her foe with a head kick on the break. A low kick by Spencer lands and Al-Hameed answers with a body kick. Al-Hameed applies pressure, landing punches near the cage, and Spencer is bleeding from her nose. Spencer lands a high kick and then another kick to the upper body before changing levels for a takedown. Al-Hameed defends, and Spencer lands a knee to the body. Spencer lands a short elbow over the top as they battle for position. Spencer lands a snapping kick up high as they break. Spencer maintains the forward pressure and lands a glancing high kick before time expires. 10-9 Spencer.

Round 2

Spencer follows a jab with a left high kick that is blocked. Spencer lands an inside leg kick followed by a front kick to the body. Al-Hameed steps off at an angle and lands a nice counter right on a pressuring Spencer. Spencer bulls her way into the clinch and pushes Al-Hameed into the cage. Al-Hameed lands a knee to the face and shoves Spencer away. Spencer punches her way right back into the clinch, however. Spencer looks to sweep the leg for a trip, and Al-Hameed is in a seated position. Suddenly, Spencer gives up her neck and Al-Hameed stands and applies the squeeze a guillotine. Spencer shows off some dexterity with some knees to the head, and she eventually escapes. Spencer marches forward and finds a home for some left and right hands. Spencer moves forward behind a series of high kicks. Al-Hameed trips and goes to her back. Spencer follows her to the floor and is on top in half guard. Spencer postures up and lands a couple elbows. She lands some more short elbows before standing. Spencer jumps in with an axe kick to the midsection as time runs out. 10-9 Spencer.

Round 3

Spencer continues to feed Al-Hameed a steady diet of kicks. Al-Hameed grabs a low kick and runs Spencer into the fence. Spencer utilizes a high guard with Al-Hameed in top position. Spencer scrambles into side control and she lands some short elbows to the body. Spencer maintains top pressure, landing periodic ground-and-pound. Nothing is especially damaging, but Spencer is doing just enough. Al-Hameed is able to regain top position with about 1:15 to go. Spencer looks to frame her legs for a submission. During a scramble, Al-Hameed goes for a leg lock and Spencer stands. Al-Hameed connects with a couple short upkicks to the face. The round ends with Spencer on top, landing some punches from above. 10-9 Spencer (30-27 Spencer).

Cheri Muraski vs. Brogan Walker-Sanchez

Round 1

A counter right lands for Muraski, who closes the distance and looks to clinch. Walker-Sanchez pushes down on Muraski’s head and lands a knee up top. Muraski is able to briefly trip Walker-Sanchez to the mat, but Walker-Sanchez is up in a hurry. The Guam-based fighter pushes Muraski into the fence and lands a couple hard knees to the body. Muraski lands a right hand off a Walker-Sanchez kick and catches her opponent off balance. Muraski moves into top position in her opponent’s full guard. Muraski picks up Walker-Sanchez and executes a mini-slam. Muraski remains on top, landing some right hands to the ribs. Walker-Sanchez tries to stay active from her back with punches. Muraski is heavy on top as Walker-Sanchez is content to utilize a closed guard. Muraski stands and Walker-Sanchez attempts to trip her foe. Walker-Sanchez gets up but Muraski jumps on her back. The round ends there. 10-9 Muraski.

Round 2

Muraski catches a low kick and the flyweights tie up. Walker-Sanchez attempts to turn Muraski into the fence. The combatants continue to do battle in the clinch, and Walker-Sanchez lands a knee to the body followed by a right elbow. Muraski finds some space to land a few lefts and rights to the head as the clinch battle continues. Walker-Sanchez is close to taking Muraski’s back for a moment, but she isn’t able to capitalize. Muraski lands some more punches in close quarters. Walker-Sanchez responds with a knee and a couple short elbows. Walker-Sanchez goes up high with a knee. The fighters finally separate with 45 seconds left. It doesn’t last, as Muraski closes the distance and ties up Walker-Sanchez. Muraski lands a takedown against the fence with 10 seconds remaining. 10-9 Muraski.

Round 3

Walker-Sanchez sends Muraski stumbling to the floor briefly with a front kick to the gut. Muraski rushes forward and they’re in the clinch once again. Muraski looks for a hip toss, but Walker-Sanchez defends it. Walker-Sanchez lands a couple right hands to the face. The flyweights remain in the clinch, with Muraski having a slight edge when it comes to positional control. Both fighters are landing periodic knees and punches as they battle for control. Muraski drops for a single leg, but she can’t get it. Muraski keeps the pressure on as we near the 1:00 mark. Mike England urges the fighters to work. They won’t break the clinch. Muraski drops for another takedown, but Walker-Sanchez is able to take the back of her opponent. She follows Muraski to the floor, but it’s too late to do anything as the bell rounds. 10-9 Muraski (30-27 Muraski).

Stephanie Alba vs. Ashley Cummins

Round 1

Cummins initiates the clinch and pushes Alba into the fence. A knee lands for Cummins, who drops for a takedown and gets Alba down with a double leg. Cummins lands a few right hands from half guard. Cummins maintains top pressure, trying to rip her other leg free from Alba’s guard. Alba slides her way back to the fence, with Cummins still on top. Cummins is able to land three or four short elbows from above. Cummins is smothering from above, as she covers Alba’s mouth with her glove. Cummins is able to pull Alba away from the cage with less than a minute remaining. Cummins plants her forearm on Alba’s face and drops an elbow. The round ends with Cummins in control and on top. 10-9 Cummins.

Round 2

Cummins circles on the outside and just misses a high kick. Cummins lands a kick to the body, Alba can’t quite catch it and Cummins puts her foe on her back near the fence. Cummins is back in Alba’s half guard, where she spent most of round one. Cummins is heavy on top, working to pass to full mount. Cummins can’t quite free her leg, but she lands a series of right hands to Alba’s ribs. More right hands to the ribs connect. Cummins is able to free her leg and she briefly has an arm-triangle choke framed. Alba escapes and returns to her feet, but Cummins is right back on her, pushing Alba into the fence. A standing elbow lands for Cummins, who puts Alba on her back once again. Cummins is trying to set up an arm-triangle choke, but she needs to pass guard. Cummins stays busy enough with punches as she works to advance position. Cummins ends the frame nearly in full mound, landing ground-and-pound. 10-9 Cummins.

Round 3

Cummins throws a high kick that’s partially blocked but still snaps Alba’s head back. A left hand lands clean on Alba. Alba throws a kick that Cummins uses to execute a takedown. Alba has full guard this time, and Cummins stays busy with punches to the ribs. Cummins creates space and lands an elbow before going back to the body with right hands. Cummins sits up and attacks the body with more punches and elbows. Cummins is doing a good job alternating punches to the head and body from above, while Alba isn’t offering much from her back. Cummins continues to create room to land hard punches to the head and body. There’s a minute to go, and Alba shows no signs of returning to her feet. The fight ends with Cummins on top and in complete control. 10-8 Cummins (30-26 Cummins).

Sharon Jacobson vs. Ashley Nichols

Round 1

Jacobson catches a front kick and rides Nichols into the fence. Nichols is up quickly and reverses position. Jacobson is able to get her opponent down again near the cage. Jacobson stands and tries to clear Nichols’ legs. Jacobson has a wardrobe malfunction with her top and Nichols is able to stand as a result. Jacobson pushes her foe back into the fence. Nichols is able to spin around and land a couple solid knees. Another hard knee lands for Nichols as they separate. Jacobson forces the clinch again and lands an uppercut. Nichols turns and rocks Jacobson with a left hand and a knee. Jacobson is able to recover quickly and she shoots for a takedown. Nichols sprawls and just misses a high kick. Jacobson again looks for a takedown, and Nichols lands a knee to the face. That allows Jacobson to get deeper on the takedown, and she plants Nichols on her back. Nichols sets up an armbar but Jacobson rolls through and is out of danger. A series of knees land for Nichols, and Jacobson creates space with an uppercut before driving back for a takedown. Nichols sprawls as the round ends. 10-9 Nichols.

Round 2

Nichols jabs forward and loads up on a body kick. Jacobson catches it and lands a takedown. Jacobson is in side control, applying heavy pressure from above. Jacobson drops some punches and an elbow as Nichols tries to recover guard. They’re back up and Nichols lands a low kick. Jacobson forces her way into the clinch and Nichols lands a knee to the body. Nichols works hard to defend the takedown, but Jacobson is able to execute a single leg. Nichols reverses into top position, but Jacobson scrambles back on top. Nichols is seated against the cage as Jacobson keeps holding her in tight. Nichols stands and lands a back elbow as Jacobson attempts to climb her foe’s back. Nichols lands her jab and then a kick to the body before Jacobson is able to clinch. Jacobson lands a slow motion hip toss and ends the round on top. 10-9 Jacobson.

Round 3

A sharp leg kick lands for Nichols before Jacobson forces her way back into the clinch. Jacobson doggedly pursues the takedown against the fence and eventually she gets it, landing in side control. Jacobson goes knee on belly and lands some ground-and-pound. Jacobson maintains her base as she continues to drop effective ground-and-pound. Jacobson is dropping short elbows now as well. Jacobson is still in control, landing punches and elbows with one minute left. Nichols creates some space with her knee, and she stands with 30 seconds to go. Jacobson goes right back to the takedown. Nichols spends the last moments of the fight on the defensive, dropping for a guillotine as the bell sounds. 10-9 Jacobson (29-28 Jacobson).

Mariana Morais vs. Vanessa Porto

Round 1

A leg kick from Porto causes Morais to slip for a moment. Porto is throwing big punches but just coming up short. Morais is probing thus far with jobs and low kicks, looking for an opening. Another inside leg kick lans for Porto. Porto blocks a one-two. Morais tries to initiate the clinch and Porto jumps guard, looking for an armbar. Porto instead transitions to the back. Morais is holding on to Porto’s right arm, so the veteran peppers Morais’ body with her left. Morais still has Porto’s arm trapped. Porto steps off the back and readjusts. She takes the back again and she’s fishing for a rear-naked choke with both hooks in. Porto lands some punches to the head to try and create an opening and she slides her arm underneath Morais’ chin. Porto applies the squeeze now, and Morais can’t resist any longer. The 21-year-old Brazilian taps out, giving Porto her second straight win under the Invicta FC banner.

Pannie Kianzad vs. Sarah Kaufman

Round 1

Kaufman comes forward and the bantamweights trade punches. They clinch and Kaufman pushes Kianzad into the fence. They separate and Kaufman lands a combination. Kaufman lands a right hand and then a knee and uppercut in the clinch. Kaufman lands a couple right hands in an exchange, and Kianzad responds with a left hand. Kaufman moves forward and lands another two-punch combination. The Canadian changes levels but her takedown is stuffed. Kianzad lands a leg kick. Kaufman continues her forward movement and lands a right. They clinch and the former Strikeforce champ lands some knees. Kaufman lands a short elbow in the clinch and they separate. A right hand lands for Kianzad. Kaufman lands a two-piece combo. Another combination lands for Kaufman. Kaufman backs Kianzad up and lands a front kick followed by a combination. Kaufman has eaten some punches in the round, but the volume is in her favor. 10-9 Kaufman.

Round 2

A left hook lands for Kianzad following a Kaufman leg kick. Kaufman blocks a spinning back fist. A two-punch combo lands for Kianzad. Kaufman pressures and lands a combination before they tie up. Kianzad turns Kaufman and lands a knee. They continue to battle in the clinch, trading knees. Kaufman gives up on a single leg and presses Kianzad into the fence. Kaufman sweeps Kianzad’s leg and gets her to the canvas. Kaufman elbows Kianzad’s legs from a north-south position. Kianzad looks to frame an armbar, but Kaufman defends well. Kianzad scrambles and looks for a single leg, but Kaufman stuffs it and lands knees to the body. Kaufman moves forward landing a one-two as Kianzad counters with a left hook. Kianzad shoots and Kaufman deftly sidesteps it. Kianzad is bleeding from her nose. Kaufman pressures and eats a jab. Kaufman lands a one-two and a follow-up right hand before the round ends. 10-9 Kaufman.

Round 3

Kianzad comes out aggressively, throwing a spinning back fist. But Kaufman is back to pressuring with punching combinations before moving into the clinch. Kaufman lands a knee but eats a right hand on the break. Kaufman backs up Kianzad with a right hand and then ties up with her opponent. They separate and Kaufman lands a one-two followed by a leg kick. Kianzad misses a spinning backfist but lands a left hand. Kaufman lands a short elbow in the clinch before moving away. The theme of the fight continues, as Kaufman moves forward with offense, forces a clinch and then eventually breaks away. Kaufman has been relentless for most of the fight, and she’s doing a good job mixing in leg kicks with punching combinations down the stretch. Time is running out for Kianzad, although she lands a left hand before the bell sounds. This fight should belong to Kaufman. 10-9 Kaufman (30-27 Kaufman).
