One FC head Victor Cui announced the news to Sherdog.com during an
interview on Wednesday, also revealing that One FC 8 will take
place April 6 in Singapore.
Beaten just once in eight pro outings, Banario captured the
Universal Reality Combat Championship lightweight title last year
and posted six consecutive victories to start his pro career before
tasting defeat in his One FC debut against Bae Young
Kwon this past February. The Filipino fighter then rebounded
from that setback by stopping fellow URCC veteran Andrew
Benibe on Aug. 31 at One FC 5.
Another Filipino standout, Kelly has gone undefeated in nine pro
fights, winning the URCC featherweight belt just over two years ago
before joining the One FC roster. Kelly has since posted a trio of
victories inside the Singapore-based organization’s circular cage,
besting Kwon and former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver
before returning to the URCC to submit Brad Terrey
on Dec. 1.
