Hollett and Polley Set for Extreme Cage Combat
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, Oct. 19 -- All fighters made weight Friday
for ECC 6 "Hometown Heroes," scheduled for Saturday night at the
Halifax Forum, but some had easier times than others.
Halifax's Roger Hollett (Pictures) looked impressive as always, stepping to the scale at 204 pounds even. However, his opponent, American Top Team's Lew Polley, didn't have such an easy time.
Polley, who sources say cut between 40 and 50 pounds since
Thursday, had to be almost carried to the scale by his team. After
weighing in at 203, Polley slumped off the scale into the arms of
his teammates, and they gingerly helped him sit down.
When asked how much weight he had lost, the affable Polley told Sherdog.com, "I'm not going to tell you the number, but it was a lot of weight."
He got no sympathy from Hollett, who said Polley's weighing in looked like a bit of an act. Hollett also told Sherdog.com that he plans to keep the fight on the feet and go for a knockout.
Polley didn't sound concerned with Hollett's knockout power, pointing out that he does well with training partners Denis Kang (Pictures) and Wilson Gouveia (Pictures).
