Herb Dean has been assigned to referee the highly anticipated rematch between Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva at UFC 168.

The Nevada Athletic Commission announced on Monday that Dean would oversee the middleweight title bout. UFC 168 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and also features a women’s bantamweight title tilt between Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate.

Dean, who was also the referee for first meeting between Silva and Weidman at UFC 162, has refereed 510 bouts in promotions such as the UFC, WEC, Strikeforce, Affliction and Elite XC during his career, according to FightMetric.com . Thus far in 2013, Dean has been in the Octagon for 63 UFC bouts.

The NAC also announced that Junichiro Kamijo, Chris Lee and Patricia Morse-Jarman will be the cageside judges for the UFC 168 headliner. All three have extensive experience scoring fights in the UFC.

Weidman ended Silva’s title reign in July, stopping “The Spider” with punches 1:18 into the second round at UFC 162. It was Silva’s first loss since he was disqualified for landing an illegal kick against Yushin Okami at a Rumble on the Rock event in January 2006. Weidman, meanwhile, is unbeaten in six Octagon appearances.
