Two heavyweights coming off a loss will tangle at UFC Fight Night “Gonzaga vs. Cro Cop 2,” when Anthony Hamilton faces Daniel Omielanczuk.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the pairing on Wednesday. The UFC Fight Pass-streamed card takes place at Krakow Arena and marks the Las Vegas-based promotion’s first trip to Poland. The event is headlined by a heavyweight rematch between Gabriel Gonzaga and Mirko Filipovic.
Hamilton, 34, has lost two of his last three outings inside the Octagon. Most recently, “Freight Train” was finished in 33 seconds by Todd Duffee at UFC 181. The Jackson-Wink MMA product’s lone win under the UFC banner took place at UFC 177, when Hamilton stopped Ruan Potts with punches to the body.
Omielanczuk, 32, will compete in Poland for the first time since 2012, when he was in the midst of a 12-fight unbeaten streak. The run carried over to his promotional debut at UFC 165, but came to an end against Jared Rosholt at UFC Fight Night “Minotauro vs. Nelson.” Omielanczuk has finished 11 of his 16 wins before reaching the judges’ scorecards.
