HBO Boxing Weigh-in Results: Klitschko, Fury Almost Identical
The final hurdle for one of the most anticipated heavyweight
showdowns is over as undisputed heavyweight champion Wladimir
Klitschko and challenger Tyson Fury will finally lock horns. The
two will meet Saturday in Dusseldorf, Germany, at Espirit Arena and
fight fans in America will be able to watch the contest live on HBO
beginning at 4:45 p.m. ET/1:45 p.m. PT.
Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) was the first to the scale and the 6-foot-9 Manchester native looked magnificent. He officially clocked in at 247 pounds.
Klitschko, the defending WBO, IBF and WBA champion looked chiseled as well as the 6-foot-6 Ukrainian came slightly lighter than his rival. Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) tipped the scale at 245.8 pounds.
The two faced off and it became intense as neither man would budge; the staredown lasted a reported 72 seconds before the two massive men had to be separated.
