Gian Villante vs. Patrick Cummins Slated for UFC on Fox 25 in Long Island

A light heavyweight duel between Gian Villante and Patrick Cummins will go down at UFC on Fox 25 in Long Island, N.Y.

Newsday first reported the pairing on Wednesday. UFC on Fox 25 takes place at Nassau Coliseum on July 22. No other bouts have been revealed for the event, which will be televised on the Fox Network.

A New York native, Villante has alternated wins and losses in his last six Octagon appearances. Most recently, the 31-year-old Strikeforce veteran suffered a third-round technical knockout loss to Mauricio Rua at UFC Fight Night 106 on March 11.

Cummins, meanwhile, halted a two-fight skid with a come-from-behind majority decision triumph over Jan Blachowicz at UFC 210 on April 8. “Durkin” is 5-4 during his promotional tenure and 9-4 as a professional overall.
