The welterweight was initially pulled from his UFC on Fox 20 bout against Hector Urbina on July 23 due to what was called a "compliance issue” with the promotion’s anti-doping policy. Sullivan later claimed that a claimed that a natural supplement led to his removal from the card.

Sullivan is now facing a potential suspension, but the fact that the fighter disclosed the use of the banned substance will be taken into consideration during the results management adjudication process.

Sullivan, 35, last appeared at UFC on Fox 18 on Jan. 30, when he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Alexander Yakovlev. He is 3-2 during his Octagon tenure.
