Dan Henderson will return to the middleweight division to face Gegard Mousasi at UFC on Fox 14.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials Wednesday announced the bout following the news that Anthony Johnson will face Alexander Gustafsson in the Jan. 24 card’s main event. UFC on Fox 14 will take place at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm.
Fighting at 185 pounds for the first time since 2010, Henderson will attempt to start anew after losing four of his last five fights. Throughout his career, “Hendo” has faced a murderers’ row of competition; his last five against Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Mauricio Rua and, most recently, Daniel Cormier were no different. With 42 fights under his belt, the 44-year-old Califorian could have limited time left inside the Octagon.
Mousasi will look to bounce back from a submission loss against Ronaldo Souza at UFC Fight Night “Jacare vs. Mousasi 2.” Since joining the UFC ranks, “The Dreamcatcher” has gone .500, winning bouts against Ilir Latifi and Mark Munoz, while dropping scraps to Lyoto Machida and “Jacare.”
