Floyd Mayweather Remains Heavy Betting Favorite Ahead of Rematch with Marcos Maidana

With Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Maidana set to fight in the gambling capital of the world on Saturday, it’s only natural betting lines for the bout would be garnering all kinds of attention.

The 12-round fight is set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be for three of Mayweather's four titles, as he defends the WBA and WBC welterweight crowns as well as the WBC junior middleweight strap.

Both men have not been in action since their initial meeting -- where Mayweather was as high of a favorite as -1000 -- but upon their return, bookmakers still give the substantial edge to “Money” when it comes to betting odds.

According to Bovada.lv, the opening line lists Mayweather as a -800 favorite or 1/8. On the opposite end, Maidana is getting play at +500 or 5/1.

In layman’s terms, a bet of $800 on Mayweather would net you an additional $100 (plus your investment), while a $100 wager on Maidana would earn $500 (plus the $100 back).
