Featherweights Akira Corassani, Maximo Blanco to Square Off at ‘TUF 18’ Finale

Akira Corassani is scheduled to lock horns with Maximo Blanco at “The Ultimate Fighter 18” finale.
UFC officials announced the featherweight pairing on Sunday. The “TUF 18” finale takes place on Nov. 30 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and is headlined by a flyweight title showdown between Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez. The card will also feature men’s and women’s bantamweight finals from the reality show.
A member the “TUF 14” cast, Corassani is unbeaten in two Octagon appearances. Most recently, he outpointed Robbie Peralta at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in April. The 31-year-old Swede debuted with the promotion at UFC on Fuel TV 5, where he captured a split verdict against Andy Ogle.
After falling to Marcus Brimage in his Octagon debut at UFC 145, Blanco rebounded to defeat Sam Sicilia via unanimous decision this past April. A former lightweight King of Pancrase, the 29-year-old Venezuelan has also competed for Sengoku and Strikeforce over the course of a 15-fight professional career.
