Featherweight Prospects Jim Hettes, Steven Siler Collide at UFC on FX 4

Two rising featherweight talents are set to square off June 22, UFC officials announced Friday, as Jim Hettes will take on on Steven Siler at UFC on FX 4.

Slated to take place at a to-be-announced venue in Atlantic City, N.J., the event will be headlined by a five-round lightweight matchup pitting Clay Guida against Gray Maynard. The evening’s main card airs live on FX, while the preliminary proceedings will be broadcast on Fuel TV.

Hettes, 24, has been a submission machine through nearly three years as a pro, tapping nine of his 10 career victims. The unbeaten Pennsylvanian posted a pair of UFC victories last year, submitting Alex Caceres in August and outpointing Nam Phan in December. Hettes’ victory over Phan marks the only decision of his career, as “The Kid” submitted each of his first nine opponents inside of two rounds prior to earning a unanimous verdict over “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 12 alumnus at UFC 141.

A veteran of “TUF 14,” Siler, 25, holds nearly three times the professional experience of his foe. A winner in six of his last seven outings, “Super” owns over half of his career wins via submission. After beginning his career a mere 5-7, Siler has found his groove, losing just twice since June 2007. Since his time on the UFC reality show, Siler has posted two Octagon victories, outpointing Josh Clopton at the live season finale in December before taking a unanimous decision from Cole Miller at UFC on FX 2 on March 3.
