After wilting in the altitude of Mexico City, Cain Velasquez will get another shot at Fabricio Werdum.

The heavyweight title rematch was revealed on Wednesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight,” although a date and venue for the fight were not announced. The bout has been rumored as the co-main event for UFC 194 on Dec. 12, but nothing is official at this point.

Werdum submitted Velasquez with a guillotine choke 2:13 into the third round of their matchup at UFC 188 on June 13. The normally tireless Velasquez ran out of gas in Mexico City, as “Vai Cavalo” battered his foe with punching combinations and knees in the clinch before securing the fight-ending submission on an attempted takedown.

Werdum is 6-0 since returning to the UFC in 2012, including triumphs over Roy Nelson, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Travis Browne and Mark Hunt. His last defeat came under the Strikeforce banner when he dropped a lackluster decision to Alistair Overeem in June 2011.

Injuries have limited Velasquez’s activity in recent years, as the showdown with Werdum was the American Kickboxing Academy product’s first Octagon appearance since October 2013. Velasquez is already a two-time heavyweight king; he initially captured the belt by defeating Brock Lesnar at UFC 121 and regained the title by outpointing Junior dos Santos at UFC 155.
