A bantamweight showdown between Eddie Wineland and Yves Jabouin will take place at UFC on Fox 10 next month.
UFC officials Thursday announced the booking, which will go down Jan. 25 at United Center in Chicago. The show’s main card airs live on Fox’s flagship network and is headlined by an important lightweight scrap pitting former UFC champion Benson Henderson against ex-Strikeforce titlist Josh Thomson.
Wineland, 29, came up short in his bid to capture the interim bantamweight title in September, suffering a second-round technical knockout at the hands of Renan Barao at UFC 165. The defeat snapped at two-fight winning streak for Wineland, who bested Scott Jorgensen and Brad Pickett last year.
Jabouin, 34, has won four of his last five fights, with his lone loss in that span coming to Pickett in September 2012. “Tiger” rebounded from the knockout defeat this past June, however, scoring a split decision win over “TUF 14” alum Dustin Pague at UFC 161.
