Dustin Poirier Opens as Betting Favorite Against Conor McGregor at UFC 178

While the mixed martial arts world continues to buzz around Conor McGregor and his impressive stoppage of Diego Brandao at last weekend’s UFC Fight Night in Dublin, the betting world could not care less.
Two bookmakers have released their opening lines for the freshly announced UFC 178 bout between McGregor and Dustin Poirier, and both have listed Poirier as the betting favorite. The event will take place Sept. 27 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
According to BestFightOdds.com, the broker BetDSI.eu currently lists Poirier as the favorite at -220 or 5/11, while Bookmaker.eu puts the odds at -225 or 4/9. On the opposite end, “The Notorious” Irishman is getting play at +185 and +190.
In layman’s terms, a bet of $225 or $220 on Poirier would net you an additional $100 (plus your investment), while a $100 wager on McGregor would earn $185 or $190 (plus the $100 back).
