Sergio Pettis will not be able to face Louis Smolka at UFC Fight Night 96 (online sportsbooks) on Oct. 1.

Duke Roufus, Pettis’ trainer at Roufusport, announced via Instagram on Thursday that the flyweight suffered a “minor injury” and had to withdraw from the card. The UFC has not officially announced the injury, so it is currently unclear if a replacement opponent will be sought for Smolka.

UFC Fight Night takes place at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore., and is headlined by a bantamweight showdown between John Lineker and John Dodson. Pettis-Smolka was one of four bouts scheduled for the Fox Sports 1-televised main card.

The 23-year-old Pettis is 5-2 during his promotional tenure and has won his last two fights, posting back-to-back triumphs over Chris Kelades and Chris Cariaso. Smolka has won four straight in the Octagon, with three of those victories coming inside the distance.
