Drysdale-Spann Title Fight, Mackenzie Dern MMA Debut Set for Legacy FC 58
Legacy Fighting Championship officially announced Thursday afternoon that its event next month will feature two of the best jiu-jitsu players on the planet.

Drysdale has yet to suffer defeat as pro MMA fighter; he’s submitted everybody he’s faced. The Las Vegas fighter had come under scrutiny while competing for the UFC, where his rear-naked choke victory over Keith Berish at the “The Ultimate Fighter 19” finale was overturned by the Nevada Athletic Commission when Drysdale’s drug screen showed elevated levels of testosterone. Drysdale has not fought since, which will be just over two full years by the time he steps into the Legacy cage.
Spann, meanwhile, is well-versed on the ground as well. “Superman”
has scored submissions in seven of his nine pro victories. He has
won four of his last five fights, with his most recent outing being
a first-round submission of Aaron Davis
in March at Legacy FC 52.
The co-feature will see unbeaten prospect Oron Kahlon oppose local fighter and Bellator MMA veteran Josh Quayhagen in a lightweight bout.
Meanwhile, Mackenzie Dern, a multiple-time world champion in both gi and no-gi competition, will make her eagerly-awaited MMA debut on the evening’s main card. Dern, who captured gold at both ADCC and the Worlds last year, will take on Kenia Rosas, who is also making her MMA debut.
Four other bouts were announced for the card: Ryan Hollis vs. Cody Williams at bantamweight; Clovis Hancock vs. Brandon Allen at middleweight; Matt Mooney vs. Gage Duhon at lightweight; and Jose Ceja vs. Trent Meaux at 135 pounds.
Legacy FC 58 will go down on July 22 at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, La. AXS-TV will televise the event beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
