A welterweight clash pitting Donald Cerrone against Yancy Medeiros has been targeted as the UFC Fight Night 126 main event, according to multiple reports.

MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani was the first to reveal the booking via Twitter. UFC Fight Night 126 takes place at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, on Feb. 18 and also includes a heavyweight scrap between Derrick Lewis and Marcin Tybura. The card will air on Fox Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

Cerrone recently announced plans to return to lightweight but will apparently remain at 170 pounds for at least one more bout. The 34-year-old Colorado native won his first four welterweight appearances in the Octagon but has since lost three straight, including a first-round technical knockout defeat to Darren Till in his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night 118.

Medeiros, meanwhile, enters the matchup on a three-bout winning streak that includes a third-round stoppage of Alex Oliveira that wound up on many 2017 “Fight of the Year” lists. The 30-year-old Hawaiian has also earned finishes of Erick Silva and Sean Spencer during his current streak.
