A featherweight showdown between Diego Brandao and Will Chope has been added to the growing UFC Fight Night 38 fight bill.
UFC officials recently brought word of the bout, which joins a March 23 event topped by a light heavyweight rematch pitting Dan Henderson against Mauricio Rua. UFC Fight Night 38 takes place at Nelio Dias Gymnasium in Natal, Brazil, and will also see C.B. Dollaway collide with Cezar Ferreira at 185 pounds.
Brandao, 26, saw a three-fight winning streak snapped in December by Dustin Poirier, who knocked out the Brazilian at UFC 168. Prior to that setback, the Jackson’s MMA rep posted back-to-back victories to start 2013, submitting Pablo Garza with an arm-triangle choke before outpointing Daniel Pineda on Aug. 17.
Chope, meanwhile, had a 14-fight winning streak halted last month by Max Holloway, who weathered an effective first period from “The Kill” to later knock out the rangy 23-year-old in the second round of their UFC Fight Night 34 confrontation. A 25-fight pro, Chope owns 12 of his 19 wins by way of submission and has gone the distance just three times in three years of competition.
